The original Pokkén was one of a number of Wii U games I didn't own, so I'm going into this version with a fresh mindset. I tried the demo, and even though I'm not very good at it (like fighting games in general), I'm looking forward to giving the full game a try!

I downloaded Mario Sports Superstars for Nintendo 3DS with a $30 eShop Card! I still have a $60 eShop Card leftover, but I'm not sure what to download with it...

Well, that’s convenient! For the past few days, I’ve been pondering the idea of getting Kid Icarus: Uprising, but for some reason it’s still AUD$69.95 on the eShop, and I only had a $60 eShop Card. I jumped onto My Nintendo tonight just to see if there are any new discounts and free software, and what do I find? A 30% Off voucher for Kid Icarus: Uprising! This made it possible not only to get the game, but also to get a Super Nintendo VC game with the leftover credit! I chose Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest this time, which brings my Super Nintendo game count on my 3DS to 5 games (although my Mini Super Nintendo has three of them on it, so it’s really only two unique games). Yep a 50 inch HDTV for my bedroom with 3 HDMI slots, 1 component/composite slot, 1 USB slot, headphone jack, 1080P resolution, digital surround, 25:000/1 dynamic contrast, 60 hertz and 120 FPS so very low latency and it only set me back $199.99!

Sweet find dude. 120 FPS should have zero latency even in retro games so nice one!

I have Worms Reloaded: Game of the Year Edition for PC and Mario Golf: World Tour for Nintendo 3DS, both of which I obtained using special discount offers. I also obtained the full suite of DLC for both games, a slam dunk that also netted me a 40-Lovetastic addition to my character roster in the form of the triple-base-running, bullseye-knockout Gold Mario. Woo!

And yes, I'm aware that I hockeyed-up my sports-related analogies, which should make it obvious that I don't really sports. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to practice my swing so I stop getting 7-10 splits through the sand witches... I think... golf IS the one with the halftime homecoming, right?

I needed something to tide me over until my replacement Joy-Con are ready to collect.
