Since I have Skyward Sword pre-ordered, and I already completed Ocarina of Time 100% back in the N64 days. If you had 1000 points to spend would you...
A) Purchase Majora's Mask and complete the trilogy?
B) Purchase LoZ 1&2 and start from the beginning, then purchase ALttP later on and complete that trilogy beforehand?
(I'll tally the votes when the total amount of votes reaches 20.)

Majora
then Link to the Past.
What about Wind Waker?
These should be your next ones.

Well SKTTR, I didn't care too much for Phantom Hourglass, so I never gave much thought into Wind Waker especially since I never owned a GameCube. I really didn't care for Spirit Tracks, it felt way too confined and claustrophobic to me. On the subject of ALttP, why would it come hand in hand with Majora's Mask SKTTR?

Wind Waker is the opposite of Spirit Tracks in that it is an open world free roam exploration adventure game

Huh, what? I didn't recommend Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks. In fact, I'm against recommending them as they are (together with the two NES games) at the bottom of the list of the best Zelda adventures. Honestly, you can play the NES and DS games if you completed all the essentials and still don't have enough of the Zelda universe.
ALttP, Majora's Mask, and The Wind Waker go hand in hand well, because they are the best Zelda games. ALttP is the best 2D-Zelda, Majora's Mask is the darkest and most exciting one, and Wind Waker is the most adventurous and most beautiful one.
All I'm saying is, why waste your time with not-so-great Zelda games when there are so many more games in the series out there that are much better?

Re: All Things Zelda

I see what your saying SKTTR. I mentioned Phantom Hourglass because it's the sequel to Wind Waker. I'll most likely download Majora's Mask because of the turnout, and the fact that I've already completed Ocarina of Time 100%. I think it'll fit in there nicely inbetween Skyward Sword, as I'm becoming impatient for it's release.

No, it's not a sequel in that sense. I know people can easily assume this because of the same cel-shaded graphic style and the similar setting: the flooded world.
But PH makes it clear that it's a different Link - and Spirit Tracks makes it clear that it's a different Zelda Princess than the Zelda you get to know in Wind Waker. In Zelda games it's often a matter of characters being reborn in a different world or a few hundred or thousands of years later.
The only direct sequels I know of are Zelda 1 to Zelda 2, and Ocarina of Time to Majora's Mask.

I haven't spend time on reading through Skyward Sword plot spoilers, but it is most likely an indirect prequel to Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask just like The Wind Waker is an indirect sequel to Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask.

Majora's Mask has the same controls and graphic style as Ocarina of Time, and since you've completed Ocarina of Time you'll be comfortable with it pretty fast.
I suggest - after the first part of the game (finding the Ocarina, traveling back into time, saving the game for the first time) you're set to leave the town and start exploring the open world - the first thing you should do is finding the scarecrow that teaches you the melody for slowing down time.
It's not essential and can easily be missed (you can always go back and find it), but it makes things much easier as it gives you 4x more time to achieve things, like beating a dungeon.
I suggest this because a few people are easily discouraged by the time limit, and this melody makes things easier on people who like to take their time and explore things at a slower pace.

Use your hookshot. Lock-on to its tentacle in the beginning of the battle, then to it's eye in the heat. Use your sword to stab that monster. I think you have to use the iron boots strategically as well, to be stronger underwater.

I doubt that it'll be posted that soon after launch Ace. First of all, it's a rather long adventure. Most people will be too engaged to take time out and produce a review. If I were you, I would've already pre-ordered myself a copy. Skyward Sword is going to be an epic adventure anyway you look at it. Ace, do you really require a review to purchase it? I mean what other first party Wii title are you waiting around for?Ace wrote:When do you think the WiiWareWave Skyward Sword review will be posted? I read an article about Robin Williams at NintendoLife today, and I was immediately reminded of these two commercials that came out right before the release of Skyward Sword. There was just something so magical about the release of Skyward Sword, and I really do believe these commercials had a lot to do with it. Could someone please embed these videos for me? I'd do it myself, but it's been too long since I've embedded a video. I can't remember the proper coding. I believe there's also another video on the first or second page of this thread.Nintenbro wrote:Here's another couple of Robin Williams videos for your viewing enjoyment.
