There have been rumors circulating regarding Nintendo's online network plans for its upcoming Wii U console. Today, president Satoru Iwata announced the first details about the service -- which will have many of the features gamers have come to expect on services like Xbox Live and PSN. The Nintendo Network, as it is called, will be compatible with both 3DS and Wii U.

Nintendo has announced plans to implement NFC (near field communication) technology into the Wii U controller. This will allow Wii U to communicate with other noncontact devices, such as NFC-enabled phones and credit cards.

By adding NFC support into the controller, Nintendo is hoping it will be able to create "cards and figurines" that can exchange data with the system, and even enable direct payments.

if you're not interested in picking up Xenoblade Chronicles but are interested in picking up The Last Story instead... then you might want to change your opinion...

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime is blasting game makers who use downloadable content (DLC) as a way to nickel-and-dime gamers for material that should have been included in the game upfront.

Of course it’s by no means confirmation that we will get either title, but the fact that Masuda is actually considering it is well worth a mention. Lets hope we see both games on the Nintendo 3DS.

Eric Hirshberg, the chief executive of Activision Publishing has told Industry Gamers that he believes the controversial second Circle Pad attachment for the Nintendo 3DS is a good idea claiming that it opens up the platform to different styles of games.
