There's been rumors left and right about the release dates for the nintendo's new upcoming home console, but it looks like someone came up with an official confirmation !
Nintendo's CEO Satoru Iwata stated in a quarterly financial conference in Osaka that they are planning to release the Wii U this holiday season worldwide, that's right, it means in Japan, Europe, Australia and North America ! no other country is going to be left out !
Personally, I think this is a good idea, because maybe this will get them enough time in order to make the Wii U even better and let the 3rd party developers get to know more about the Wii U and their recently received Dev kits.
But what do you think of this ? is this a good idea ? or not ?

That seems like the perfect time for it. Let the word get out on the system, and let the devs get some more hands on time with it. And all the anticipation will only make me want it more.

I think the holiday season (or just in time for Christmas shopping) is the best possible time to release a console. It may start a feeding frenzy like the Wii did, where everyone wants it and there aren't enough units to meet the demand. 3DS sold a lot initially, but you could find it everywhere, so there wasn't the same "must-have" factor or post-launch demand. It was tough to find a Wii for months and months because everyone wanted them and no one could get them.

Not yet, there's still speculation about that, but I'll let you know when nintendo officially confirms it !
