My Time At Portia (OT)

This game is super fun
It's like a cross between Harvest Moon and Rune Factory with an emphasis on building instead of farming. It feels a bit MMO'ish with quests and the frequent content updates

Isn't it great? I am super addicted to it. I am on my second playthrough now lol. They still have a bit to catch up to the PC version, but there is another content update release slated for June. I can't wait to see what they add this time!

I love My Time At Portia. It's a lovely sandbox simulation RPG and I've easily sunk over 100 hours into it and I'm still making new discoveries and seeing new events.

@TechnicalIssues8 Do you have any tips for a newcomer? I'm still near the beginning and to be honest I'm sort of getting lost in the freedom this game gives you. I could do with a little more nudging towards an actual goal, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying the game!

The first thing you really want to do is mine. Ore is crucial to this game and you can never have enough. Once you have the materials for them, build furnaces and grinders. Bars and pipe are quite common in most of your schematics. Try to keep about 20 bars of each variety on hand at all times. Secondly, do the commerce commissions. They are a great source of gols and they earn you reputation with the town. Start building your relationships as time allows as there are perks that come with each friendship. This should build a solid foundation leading you to endgame.

Any word if a new region will be added on the island eventually? There's a mountainous section that appears to be inaccessible and I figured it must be a placeholder for a future expansion to the game.

@Kain I'm not sure, but a large-scale expansion would be amazing!

I have heard rumors of another brand new zone, but nothing concrete has been announced by Pathea or Team17. The next update, scheduled for June, is supposed to be rather large as well. If I find out further information, I'll share it in this thread

Are there any timed or random events in this game?

Most of the commissions for the townspeople have a five, ten or fifteen-day timer on them. You have plenty of time to gather the materials you need and complete the job. Commissions for outside towns are typically twenty days. There are some random side quests that the npcs will spring on you that have a twenty-four hour timer on them. Make sure you really pay attention to the timers or you'll lose reputation not only with the person you're doing the mission for but the town as well.
