This doesn't belong in the news section as it's not even an article. And no way is Sony going to take down Nintendo, they have been losing fans and money at a staggering rate since the PS3 launched. Microsoft in my opinion is the only real threat to the Wii U.

The screenshots and trailers I've seen for upcoming PS4 games have been less than impressive, in my opinion. Compared to the WiiU, how is the PS4 so much more superior? From what I've witnessed, the PS4 doesn't have anymore graphical grunt than the PS3 did.

PS4 doesn't look impressive, and I also heard rumors that your PS3 Download wont transfer, which means even though it was a pain to transfer from wii to WiiU and we have to pay that extra $1 it's better the having to rebuy every game at full price, Nintendo actually got that right with online before SONY

Will the PS4 kill Sony? That is the real question.
After their epic fail with the PSVita, it still hasn't really got off the ground, not even in Japan. The Wii U released at a decent price of £300 and some online retailers are selling it off at £200 now and it still isn't flying off the shelves as fast as the Wii. Along with the current economic climate I don't see Sony being able to pull another £400-£500 price tag again and live to tell the tale, they'll move units that's for sure, but how many?
By the time it even releases Microsoft will be ready to launch a counter strike against them and the Wii U will have built up a solid library over the summer.
It's very hard to tell at the moment, but if Sony muck up with their launch again I can see this being their last console. Sony are sitting on a cliff, after all their blatant copying of the Wii and their constant digs at Nintendo, at which they've never retaliated back, I think they deserve the boot. Most uninspired company by a mile!

I don't hate the company, just the people behind it. People like Jack Tretton, he talks out of the back of his you know where and spills a load of feces on Nintendo every single time.
I'm not a Nintendo fanboy by any means, but Sony always dish the dirt on them even though they've done nothing wrong. Sony is a lot like that kid at school always trying to get attention and as soon as someone else takes his lime light he starts poo flinging. It's just pathetic!

Jack Tretton is using a bully tactic to draw people in, but unfortunately for him, his tactic is having the opposite effect.

iLife Sony more then Microsoft, but I kinda hope this is Sonys last console for one reason.... PS back catalog on eShop there are so many games I'd buy from the PSOne/2/3/P that I haven't experienced like FFVII-XIII2 and MGS4, imagine playing them on WiiU (it's possible if they go 3rd party as fast as SEGA did with the DreamCast)

Thanks for sharing all those thoughts. That's what I like about a forum: a discussion about pros and cons.
I personally have a Wii, PS3 and PSP (which I no longer use) and I both (Wii/PS3) like them. Nintento for it's brilliantly designed and unique games and innovative hardware and Sony for their graphics that clearly stand out.
I'm not here to cry on Sony's shoulder for finally revealing the PS4, or on any console maker's for that mather, but I've long awaited it because of all the rumours lately. I still need to see what it looks like in reality as Sony didn't show the console on their Manhattan show or anywhere yet, but insiders (people I know that work at Sony's) say it's gonna be a transparent casing. I might have a picture of it at the end of next week. Some of the hardware specs I've seen are real (confirmed) and I'm glad the controller is not Wii-U like as it would be tough to handle in some games.
Now, for the interchangability of former platform games, like in the past when the PS3 was released and couldn't play PS2 games, the first few batches will again be not, letting down those PS fans and letting them pay top dollar for hardly any joy, except for the speed and graphics. There may be another patch of some sort coming out later, to make that possible, like they did with other consoles. Sony wants you to buy those (twice as expensive as the PS3's) games first, because to them that's where the real big money is, they think. It's obvious they designed this console to be on the internet 24/7, downloading games, sharing replays and push their users into the social corner of it all.
The release date has been set to the 2013 Holiday Season or before, but clearly end of the year, and only to a few regions like Japan, EurAsia, Australia, UK and USA, definately not making friends in Europe where a good deal of their market and money is. Reason for that is they want to fill there warehouses first and release them to the shops all at the same date, so that's a huge logistical operation. Stocks in Japan are nearly filled. Sony will start work on developing their next generation console soon.
As a consumer, I think any console should be welcome to the market as it will keep the gaming industry eager to keep developing their products.

Sony make some really good consoles, the PS3 was well made and it had decent games, none I was interested in but decent nonetheless. Problem was that Microsoft had the "hardcore" gamers for fighters, shooters, racers, indie etc. it has a huge install base with a lot of choice and it was easier to develop for.
The Wii was good for some really amazing 3rd party games and top class 1st party games. It wasn't the most powerful, but it was the most fun.
PS3 just didn't have anywhere to stand and as far as I'm aware, most of the games were buggy and slow compared to the 360 version and most people already owned a 360 by the time the PS3 was released so why would they need another HD console that, in some ways, was more inferior?
I don't know what Sony are going to do if the PS4 fails, which is a possibility.

for me the only problem with the PS3 Was price. Six hundred dollars is insane. I hope Sony doesn't dosent do this again with the PS4 or they will be in trouble. Thats what i think anyways.

I've saved around EUR 1,300 ($ 1,600) now for the console and maybe some games. I'll have it imported if it can't be distributed soon here, that's for sure. If I've got money left, I might be getting myself a Wii-U, too, but I'm not sure if I really will, yet.

Hi again. I'm not gonna give away my Sony sources, but I found a similar picture / drawing on the internet as ppl shared it with me over the weekend. The secret pic I got, I cannot share with you guys, unfortunately, but I promise it looks way better than this one. What I'm sharing with you guys will be the one and only PS4, according to Sony. Thanks to my sources who shared an official Sony picture with me of the new console. The controller may differ a bit (and a lot from the picture I'm showing) compared to current PS3's, because it will have a blue-tooth connectable feature, but not much.
Sony told me, they're up to the fight with Microsoft's XBOX 720 at the end of the year. They're even welcoming their opponent to the gaming market to show their latest generation gaming console...
So, is this gonna be a battle, Nintendo's Pokëmon style? Well, let's wait and see!
Sony VS. Microsoft..... *** FIGHT !!! ***
To be continued, I guess....

It is like Pokemon, Red VS Team Rocket and while Red and Team Rocket are fighting, Blue ends up being the champion... But that's where the analogy stops

Thats not the really PS4 controller. The real one was shown at the event on the 20th. And that probably isnt the real console either. Probably just a fan rendering.

Keep in mind that the early PS2 games looked no better than most later PS1 games and games such as Final Fantasy XII for the PS2, still to this day look good even when compared to the average PS3 game that is released at this point in the PS3's life-cycle. So it really depends on a developer's experience with developing for a particular console.Nintenbro wrote:The screenshots and trailers I've seen for upcoming PS4 games have been less than impressive, in my opinion. Very true that, Rukiafan. Thank you! And to me they've been good enough. Like I said, it's not batteling me against Nintendo, but someone needs to put up the fight to get those consoles developing to the next level... Like this everyone's pushing me into a corner I don't wanna be.
