eShop 72 focuses on the latest download releases, both new and classics, appearing on the Nintendo eShop (North America). Showing you how well they’re doing during the first 72 hours on the service from Thursday, July 12 9:00am, to Sunday, July 15 9:00am PDT.
Last Thursday two new Virtual Console games for 8-Bit Summer which are Kirby’s Pinball Land and The Sword of Hope II. 72 hours after their releases, Kirby’s Pinball Land receive a 5 star status with a total of 20 ratings and The Sword of Hope II receive a 4 ½ star status with 27 ratings. While there is more interest of investment in a Game Boy RPG title, Kirby is the Virtual Console game of the week because of its 5 star status.
Two new 3DS downloads release on the same day, Johnny Kung Fu and Sweet Memories Blackjack. Johnny Kung Fu deserves a black belt for currently receiving a 4 ½ star status with 37 ratings, 27 ratings more than Sweet Memories Blackjack which clearly its memories aren’t that sweet, they’re creepy.
Two new DSiware releases that also wanting the attention, Candle Route and Ace Mathician. The interest in candles and math are equal as they’re 5 ratings total. However, Candle Route is a safe route to take as a second new release game to receive a 5 star status.

There is one more 5 star status game that release this week, in a form of a retail cartridge known as Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure. 24 hours after launch, Wednesday, the rhythmic adventure with Professor Layton’s charm receive a 5 star status with 20 ratings and was in 7th place in “All User’s Ratings” for all software. Currently, Rhythm Thief is 6th place (for two days straight) with 94 ratings. Don’t feel bad about the thief that his rhythm is not as popular as THEATRHYTHM which currently is in 1st place, for 11 days straight, with 530. It’s not his fault that the game is hard to find in stores, or maybe he is. He’s a thief after all.
Just out of curiosity, I’m keeping an eye on Mighty
Switch Force! which currently the Game of the Weekend (until 9 pm PDT today’s post) and it’s the first eShop title to receive a 50% discount. 48 hours after the start of the program, Mighty Switch Force! gain a total of 69 ratings, 49 of them are 5 stars. This means that a discount game receives more ratings, 5 star ratings, than any new releases this week in the same time period as Mighty Switch Force! discount sale.
I’ll be checking back new process on the Nintendo eShop next week and remember to post your welcoming thoughts at the comment section below.
