Oooh, more classic Mario reviews from Joe. I remember struggling with this as a kid, but my uncle mastered the timing for the lottery minigame after you beat a level for easy 1-Ups. 
He later bought me the Game Boy Advance remake when that came out, so this game has a lot of nostalgic value for me. If I recall, the remake was just as good if not better than the original.
