Take the role of a young boy who dreams of being a Pokémon trainer and travel the devastated Orre region. You have to save Pokémon who have had their hearts closed by an evil organization known as Cipher by snagging them in battle!
Story & Gameplay
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is one of the best Pokémon rpgs we will likely ever see on a home console as it has a gripping story that is over 30 hours long, several colliseum battle contests and plenty of different Pokémon from the first 2 generations as well as a few of the 3rd generation! There are even wild Pokémon which can be captured for the first time in a non handheld title.
Graphics & Sound
The scenery and details in the dungeons and towns are superb and the character models and special effects rival those seen in the Pokémon animé! There isn't any voice acting nor is there much in the way of sound effects, but the music is awesome and sounds remarkably similar to the music used in the animé!
Bottom line: This is one of the best Pokémon games released on a home console. It has a great story, awesome graphics and a soundtrack that is strikingly similar to the music heard in the animé. At $15-20 American dollars, this is one title that neither rpg fans nor Pokémon fans should miss out on.
Score 9/10
9- Awesome This game has little in the way of flaws, and is a highly enjoyable experience.
