Which is the greatest entry in the Resident Evil series?

I'm going to have to vote for Resident Evil 4 (Wii Edition). Which in my opinion is the most definitive of all versions. Which canidate received your vote and why so?

Resident Evil 4 because well it's the only one I've played

Resident Evil 4 because it does a better job at making you feel like an experience rather than simply a game |D

I'm going to have to choose RE5, because I had a lot of fun in the single player and multiplayer part !

If you only have these two choices, which one will you choose ? to have a game with no story ? or to have a game with the most ridiculous, boring, cliché-filled and horrible story ever ?
Do games need to be epic ?... or fun ?...

I never played RE4 despite the popularity surrounding that game, however, RE1 is the first horror game I owned and even today that one scene still freaks me out...
