News Section

We should really get one here on the site. A section we can post gaming news instead of randomly through out the site. I think it would help get lots more visitors. Imagine having the same articles posted here the same day the big sites like IGN, Gamesstop, Nintendo Life, Kotaku, and Detructoid have em posted. Them members here can tweet those posts thus more visitors. Think About it.

dude im gonna do it. I did this same thing on explicitgamer.com before they shut down. Basically i would just cut and paste the article but make sure i put down who wrote it and a llink back to the original one.

Problem is, again, that this is a forum. We had reserved a seperate section for news posts "Gaming News". But that was just a part of the forum and no one posted there.

True but if we had solid news articles and it had its own external page "much like our guestbook has" it would be very helpful

OR instead I could post the Articles in there appropriate threads. If you dont want to make another. Its all up to you really.

But that's the problem. If you want it on a seperate site, people have to register for it or not let them react.

Woah I never said It should be on a separate site. The objective is to get more visitors HERE if its on another site that would defeat the whole purpose of it. The news section is gonna be/has got to be HERE on this site.

I think I figured out how to give it its own page,well at least for guests and normal members,you'll see what I mean

Okay I created the section,guests can post comments on the news section so we can possibly get some more of our guests returning,also I made it impossible for guests and regular members to create topics on that blog

Actually That will be staff only,however if a member posts a news story that is noteworthy with thier permission we will move it to our news section and of course they'll get credit for the topic they created

And members and "in this section only" guests can post comments on any entry

The guests part'll be temporary but'll remain in place until our site gets much more active and at least a few hundred more members

But you know, if you want my suggestion, you should maybe add a section in the portal (or maybe at the right side of the webpage) where it updates the news just like how the "Recent reviews" works or how the "Latest topics" work.

Okay I'm a bad example for my members as I'm now triple posting again xD

In my opinion, there is no reason to post other gaming news on WiiWareWave. Just stick to Nintendo news. And I don't think that the Forum Rules and WiiU Impressions are news stories.

BTW, on a side note, what happen to the top menu?

It was a forumotion update,i'll try to fix that right away,as for the forum rules it's a global announcement which shows on all pages so i'll need to create a forum rules sticky topic in all the appropriate pages and remove the global announcement,as for the news I think it's good for now to allow this as it will draw plenty new visitors and possibly members,however after today try to make sure no more than 1/3 of your stories are not related to nintendo as this is primarily a nintendo website,still I think some non nintendo news will be helpful,also stories like let's say e.g. pac-man's 40th anniversary or Rayman turns 20 which are/will be things relevant to the entire industry are considered relevant to nintendo websites

Since your a Nintendo site, you need to focus only on Nintendo news in my opinion. Of course stuff like Sonic and Rayman is fine, but only if it's Nintendo related. BTW remove the news from the forum widget. Looks absolutely terrible.

Dont forget to be tweeting some of those articles. More Visitors, More Members.

Use the Appropriate Hashtags. #Gaming #Nintendo Etc........
