Why hasn't nintendo released any first party IPs such as mario or zelda on wiiware?

It'd be easy it wouldn't cost much and it would sell like crazy,so why hasn't Nintendo done this

Maybe is because they wanted to try to experiment something... like if they wanted to do something original or something like that...
But I can tell you that the only closest thing to a mario related game on wiiware is Warioware: D.I.Y. showcase.

I think nintendo didn't want to because that would hurt all of those indy developers on the service if they started releasing extremely popular first party titles like mario or zelda.

Let's face it. Nintendo is a company with one goal. Making as much money as possible. Why make a game with the WiiWare restrictions, ask 10 bucks for it and see it sell like crazy while you can also make a game with no restrictions, burn it on a disc. Put it in a store for 40/50 bucks and see it sell like crazy.
BTW, the only games I can recall with a major first party character in it is the earlier mentioned WarioWare, Excitebike and of course Dr. Mario.
