Is it possible to save KATT at the arena?

For some reason she always gets killed by those poison darts,which makes the next boss fight insanely hard.
Is there a trick to saving her,or is it not possible Question

Push and hold up on the d-pad after a few lines of dialogue after the battle and you'll push Katt out of the way Very Happy
