The "Who's That Pokémon?" Game

Greetings, Trainers, and welcome to Who's That Pokémon?, the game where we ask one simple question: "Who's that Pokémon?" I'm your host, PKMN Trainer Zack!

The rules are simple. In each round, I will present a silhouette of a classic Pokémon sprite, and you, the contestants, must guess the identity of the Pokémon. If you guess correctly, I will begin the next round with a new silhouette. Correct guesses get 1 point, and if you can guess the game it's from, you get another point.

If after a few attempts noone correctly guesses the Pokémon, a hint will be provided. Additional hints will be provided as necessary until the Pokémon is succesfully guessed. After ten rounds, the player with the most points is declared the winner! Then a new cycle of ten rounds begins with a fresh lineup of Pokémon silhouettes. There's no prize, other than the right to brag about your victory. But remember, if someone brags, brag right back (when you win)!

Omnicron? Oh wait wrong anime.

Whelp, I count that as "one more guess", so here comes your first hint:

#1: It isn't found in the Kanto Pokédex, but it is found in two other Pokédexes (or three, if you count the National Dex)

The next hint will be posted after the next incorrect guess, or tomorrow-ish (ie. when I get so impatient that I post another hint much sooner )

Another hint, you ask? Well, sure. Why not? (No, that isn't the hint. This is not Wynaut! )

#2: A major character in the Pokémon anime welcomed one to their party. The Trainer in question was introduced in the first season, though they didn't acquire this Pokémon until much later.

It's time for another batch of clues:

#3: This Pokemon is Flying-type, but its Stage-2 evolved form is not.

#4: It has the honour of being the first non-Legendary, non-Mythical Pokemon of its generation to be fully revealed in an official capacity.

#5: The real-world animal upon which it is based is nocturnal, meaning it is primarily active at night.

Any ideas yet? There are no penalties for incorrect guesses, wot-wot.

Well you're sure in a treat for this one, my good friend. Most especially this reply is from a dear old friend.  

From memories I enjoyed traveling the sunny beaches of Alola, when looking closely to the silhouette that it's come to me that it is of the Alolan Grass Type starter Rowlet all these time.  

Which sure make this round very enjoyable as I happened to love the whole region of Alola, being a great summer holiday spot to go.  

So I got to thank you for this one as well, good friend.

Hmm... An impressive challenge you got there, BlueyWaverJack.   

From what I can observe, it's one of a no. of spheral shaped pokemon, do this might be a tricky one.   

So here's my quess of what the pokemon be, as said it the classic Pokemon Commercial break call: 

"It's Voltorb!" Voltorb - "Voltorb!"

Just kidding! So now it's time for some hints:

1. It isn't in the original 151 Pokémon.

2. It isn't an Electric-type.

Are there any other guesses?

Okay, another batch of hints it is!:

3. It's a version exclusive in both its first and its most recent appearances.

4. It is able to evolve twice from its basic form.

5. Various stages of its evolutionary line are used by a number of in-game Trainers, including a rival and an Elite Four member.

Did someone say, "Two more hints!"? No...? Well, I'm giving ya some hints anyway. You're welcome.

6. It looks a bit like a novelty gummi. (Just don't try eating it, because it isn't one! )

7. It learns Endeavor, Safeguard and Psyshock via level up.

Hopefully that provides enough clues for y'all. Oh, and I may have hidden a bonus eighth clue relating to its type somewhere in all these other clues.

And before you ask, no, it ISN'T Fairy-type! The whole "a Jigglypuff seen from above" gag was a reference to the Pokémon anime ep that inspired this round.
