Technically, both Nidoran lines are loosely based on the Moon Rabbit of Asian lore; they are rabbit-like creatures (or Guinea pig-like in Nidoran�'s case, I suppose) that can only reach their second-stage evolution by exposure to a Moon Stone.

@Towafan7 Actually, the ideal way to subdue Flygon is the ideal way to subdue anyone and everyone:

I mean... Flygon evolves from Vibrava (literally vibration + ava, roughly translating to "fly" or "flight" + larva), and screams are a type of vibration. And for what frozen treat does everyone scream...?

Of course, any Ice-type Pokémon and/or move will do in a pinch. Huh... I managed to accidentally reference Trapinch as well... not what I intended, but still poetically appropriate.

@Inoue79 Yup! I was researching shiny colourations of Pokémon I like, and as soon as I realised shiny Flygon has blue and orange in place of slightly darker green and red, I decided to swap out the shiny Nidoran� sprite from Pokémon Silver for this one.
