No jokes here!
There was a Nintendo Direct earlier today, and it wasn't an april fool's prank! Most fans watched it or are going to watch it, but if you don't feel like spending 40+ minutes watching it, here's a recap:
--Mewtwo News--
Mewtwo available for download on April 28th, $3.99 for one version, or $4.99 for both the 3DS and Wii U versions. However if you have registered both Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and for Wii U on club Nintendo you will receive a Mewtwo code for both versions on April 15th for free.
--Lucas DLC for Super Smash Bros--
Lucas has been confirmed for Super Smash Bros. DLC coming sometime in June. Lucas seems to have an almost identical move set to the one in Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) so Lucas veterans won't have to adapt.
--Nintendo asks, "Who do YOU want for Super Smash Bros?--
This title is essentially what Nintendo has done; Nintendo will be taking suggestions through an online form that you can find here whether your personal suggestion is going to be accepted by Nintendo is unlikely, but it's a nice gesture for Nintendo to hear their fans' voice on the Super Smash Bros. roster. The ballot will close on 10/3/2015
--Two main modes in Yoshi's Wooly World, and also Yoshi Amiibo in wool form--
Yoshi's Wooly World was talked about in today's Nintendo Direct, and Bill Trinen introduced mellow mode and classic mode. Classic mode is basically the main game; but there will be mellow mode, which gives Yoshi wings to help prevent death, making the game easier. Luckily you can switch anytime in gameplay. Also there will be a Yoshi Amiibo, but this time in a wool doll! (Wool Yoshi Amiibo has same functionality as other Yoshi Amiibo)
--Mario Maker coming in September--
Mario Maker, the create-your-own-mario-stages game, has been announced for release in September, plus Nintendo said they will try and plan more surprises for the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. this year
--Nintendo's greatest bits--
Another Amiibo compatible game! Well, sort of. With Nintendo's Greatest Bits you can use Amiibo to unlock 3-minute long gameplay demos of some Nintendo Classics. This app is coming this Spring.
--Nintendo DS and N64 games available on Wii U--
A list of some N64 games and DS games are coming to the Wii U VC! Here's the list of release dates and prices

--Codename S.T.E.A.M. update--
Codename S.T.E.A.M. has an update out now where you can fast-forward enemy turns, something that some people have complained about not having.
--Latest Fire Emblem coming in 2016, other related news--
As mentioned, the next installment in the Fire Emblem series is coming in 2016. It also comes with an interesting concept; you can choose between one side of two that are in a war and your choice of side determines the story's outcome.
--Puzzle & DragonsZ/Puzzle Dragons: Super Mario Bros. news--
More news on the combo pack of games, including a demo for one of them later this month.
--Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem news--
That's right, the project isn't dead! Instead it's been shown off in a new trailer you can find below
--Animal Crossing: Happy Home!--
Interior Decorating just got a lot more fun. Coming to 3DS later this year, you can unlock decorating options for other villagers' houses through the new card version of Amiibo.

Also, 200cc mode was announced, being even faster and harder than 150cc, and will be available for free in the update when the new DLC comes out

I'm so glad that Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem wasn't cancelled!

Well, I put in my vote for a character I've wanted to be in a Smash Bros. game for a long time. That's right, it's [NAME REMOVED]!

I had mixed feelings about the direct. The dlc and virtual console announcements were great and all, but unless new games are announced at E3 there's going to be an absolutely dreadful software drought for the Wii U in just about every region.

I really hope the DS VC will get as much as the GBA has (N64 obviously can't do too much since theirs probably only 25 games that they can put on, so having 3/25 by the end of the month is great)
April 3rd 2015, 2:49 pm
I should mention that the launch line-up of N64 and DS games is different in PAL territories. Over here, we have:
●Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64)
●Donkey Kong 64 (Nintendo 64)
●WarioWare: Touched! (Nintendo DS)
●Mario Kart DS (Nintendo DS)
Also, if you buy 3 games, you get the 4th free!

If you include Capcom, Konami, BandaiNamco, and Natsume who are still actively supporting the service that number is closer to 50 games that could potentially be released in the west with around 70 games if you include the Japanese region.passioNATE wrote:I really hope the DS VC will get as much as the GBA has (N64 obviously can't do too much since theirs probably only 25 games that they can put on, so having 3/25 by the end of the month is great)

I'm so happy!

Not bad for not really showing any new games

I was surprised that Nintendo didn't show any Splatoon footage during the ND.
