What do you want to see in the next major MK8 software update?
March 1st 2015, 11:39 am
Personally for me I'd like a true battle mode or at least some battle mode arena's added along with the return of coin runners. I'd also like to see the music glitch during the second lap in Dolphin Shoals get fixed. Perhaps the addition of a few more classic items such as the Yoshi Egg and Mega Shroom as well.
I'd also like Nintendo to raise the maximum number of tracks in vs. mode to however many tracks the game currently has instead of 32. And maybe a new free dlc pack that has a few new karts and maybe Diddy Kong, King Boo, and Birdo?
Anyways what would you guys like to see added to the game in the future?

Perhaps a Balloon Trip-themed course? Or maybe N64 Wario Stadium, which would mean every course from Mario Kart 64 is available across all the most recent Mario Kart games; of course, that would make MK64 redundant to all but those who grew up playing it, and thus have nostalgia for it.
Perhaps the one thing I would really like is Purple Yoshi as a playable character. :egg:

I know it won't happen but I was hoping for more Amiibo support for other things such as items and courses (that you can also get for $ if you don't have the Amiibo) like if they made a PAC Maze course if you set your PacMan Amiibo down, or if they start making Amiibo of SSB assist we could get Color TV Game 15 as an item that'll play Pong with the Kart ahead of you making them go to the back

Yeah, because it's not even necessary and there are other things such as battle arenas that should have been addressed before this 200cc mode.GamerZack87 wrote:I doubt anyone saw 200cc coming!

I know what you mean. It's disappointing that Battle mode is the way it is in MK8. The sad thing is that Mario Kart DS's Battle mode is far superior to that of the three most recent titles. Not bad for a game which is nearly a decade old.Rukiafan wrote:Yeah, because it's not even necessary and there are other things such as battle arenas that should have been addressed before this 200cc mode.GamerZack87 wrote:I doubt anyone saw 200cc coming!

I don't think I could handle Mario Kart at that speed. 100cc is enough for me, sil vous plait.

@Kushina I'd also probably become motion sick if I actually tried playing 200cc. #WhoNeedsOculusRift

Ok I maybe looking too deep into this but... MK8 came out on May 30th, May 30 to Nov 11 (the first DLC Pack) is 164 days, then Nov 11 to April 23 (the 2nd DLC Pack) is another 164 days, then I added 164 days to that outta curiosity and got....... Oct. 3rd which is...... THE DAY THE SMASH BALLOT ENDS!! is this coinicdence that Nintendos all start fighter potential DLC votes will be tallied up on the exact number of days that would go by if theirs a DLC pack 3 for the game that's becoming SMASH KART?!

Is it really so much to ask for dedicated Battle Mode arenas? I know it's a tired plea, and I'm actually one of the people who loves using the racing tracks for Battle Mode. I think it speeds up the pace nicely and makes battles play out more as a game of chicken than the third-person shooter lite that it used to be. But in the words of the Old El Paso taco commercial girl, "Why don't we have both?"
It would be relatively easy to apply a graphical upgrade to a couple Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii arenas and would just serve to add variety to the kinds of matches that can take place in that mode. It's the number one thing people have been asking for since the game launched. I'm shocked it hasn't been implemented yet and have my fingers crossed we'll hear it's coming this E3. It's my wife's favorite way to play, so Battle Mode gets a lot of love in our house. More options of any kind would ultimately be welcome, even if it were just a few more racing courses added (I'm looking at you, Baby Park).
