Bullet-hell and fighting blended together



Indie developer From Soy Sauce has announced that they are working on a Touhou game that is inspired by Super Smash Bros. Touhou Super Smash Battles promises to blend together the hectic action of the the Touhou series and the flawless fighting system of Super Smash Bros. This could be a perfect match for the Wii U which is "the main console" that the developer hopes to release the game on!

The lead developer Saijee Higuchi had this to say about the project:

Saijee Higuchi wrote:the controls are highly inspired by Super Smash Bros Melee and the Brawl Mod: Project M.

From Soy Sauce also plans to include familiar modes such as Break the Targets, Board the Platforms, Adventure Mode, Classic Mode, 8-Player Smash, and online multiplayer. They also promise to have over 15 characters and stages, but hope to have over 20 when the game launches. Gamecube Adapter support is also promised for the Wii U version!

Future dlc is planned and will include new modes, costumes, characters, and stages.

Touhou Super Smash Battles is expected to release sometime between October 2015 and February 2016 in North America, and March 2016 in Japan. There's no news about a possible European release, but we will let you know if that changes!
