Santa Aboard!



Deck The Halls is a new yearly feature that will recur daily from Christmas Eve through New Years Day and will be all about how the holidays sometimes find their way into video games! Today we'll be talking about a few instances in which Saint Nick has appeared either as a character in a game or just makes a cameo appearance. These games won't be limited to just Nintendo titles so expect a few surprises!



Santa In Kingdom Hearts II:

In Kingdom Hearts II Santa plays a big role in The Nightmare Before Christmas world in the game as Jack Skelington and friends must save Santa's workshop from a familiar Nightmare Before Christmas antagonist as well as Christmas themed Heartless which further adds to the Christmasy feel of this world in Kingdom Hearts II! Santa has many lines of spoken dialog as well which makes this a unique holiday experience in the video game world and is why we chose this holiday moment for our feature!



Santa's Workshop And Cameo Santa In Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams:

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams has several fire/snowy levels in the game and there are many holiday themed objects such as candy canes, snowmen, and even Santa and his workshop and all of these holiday cameos appear throughout the whole game which is the reason why this game was chosen for this feature!



Santa And His Workshop In Secret of Mana:

In Secret of Mana you run across Santa and his workshop during your epic adventure and must help him save Christmas through a lengthy and difficult quest! This was one of Santa's first major roles in a non holiday video game and was a surprise to gamers when they first saw Santa in the game!
