Ride On!
We had a chance to speak with Claire Fontenot from Darkseas Interactive regarding their upcoming title Road Redemption which will be headed to the Wii U sometime in 2014, here is our conversation!
Thanks for agreeing to answer some of our questions about your upcoming title Road Redemption!
(DSI): It's our pleasure!
Is the EA title Road Rash an inspiration for Road Redemption?
(DSI): Yes. While Road Rash is not the only title we were inspired by to make this game, Road Redemption is most certainly its spiritual successor.
We absolutely loved playing EA's Road Rash games and after a long period of waiting for another installment we took matters into our own hands.
Can you share some information about some of the features of the game?
(DSI): We are incorporating state-of-the-industry combat controls optimized for each console release. The game will also feature insane crashes, destructible environments, AI, ragdoll physics, and online multiplayer in addition to the classic racing formula.
How many people are currently working on the development of this title?
(DSI): We officially have nine developers working on Road Redemption, but so many fans have offered support, resources and ideas that a more accurate estimate is around 5,000.
In terms of content how much of the game has been finished so far?
(DSI): We are still working on to bring the Alpha release to our supporters. Backers can find updates on the progress of the game on the backer-exclusive forum atforum.roadredemption.com.
What is your favorite aspect of the game?
(DSI): There are so many cool aspects that basically every team member has a different answer. Personally, I love the how the number of different combat methods lets players define their own signature style.
There are few things that I find more satisfying than kicking the enemy into oncoming traffic and speeding away.
Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions!
(DSI): Thanks for your interest and support! We can't wait to get the game into the players' hands.
We look forward to talking to you again in the future!
(DSI): Same here. Ride on, Wii Ware Wavers.
Will you be downloading this amazing looking title? Let us know in our comments!
