Square Enix needs to end the Final Fantasy series before they ruin it any worse.

Ever since Hironobu Sakaguchi left Square Enix the series has been getting progressively worse to the point now that the series no longer resembles Final Fantasy and the plot of the games are a joke. Please end the series before it becomes a laughing stock.

The sad fate of the Final Fantasy series shall go down in history as one of the biggest tragedies of the video gaming world.

I have been saying that since Final Fantasy VII.

The last FF game I owned was FFXII, I liked playing it and regret selling it but it still wasn't as enjoyable as the FF games that I played on the original PlayStation.

I was really looking forward to FFXIII but when I discovered that it was nothing more than a boring linear 'dungeon-crawl' with very little to explore and discover, I became quite depressed. :-(

But at least there are a lot of other quality JRPG titles out there. :-)

I have found myself Playing Tales of games alot more than FF. Tales of series games have amazing stories. And are literally on almost every console ever made. Even back to the SNES Tales of Phantasia. If your looking for a good JRPG Try out some Tales of games. Another is the Artonelico series. So many good ones and they are long. I have Qoga Knell of Ar Ciel. Very fun JRPG and its funny when you attack. But try it out also its on the Playstation 3.

@Tasuki at least VIII and IX weren't horrible like most of the post PSX Final Fantasies have been.

The serie died with Sakaguchi sans departure.

......dont get me started talking on @##$-Enix.............i lost hope on them......

At which point did the series crash and burn? Personally I'm only looking to collect and play the main series as far as Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. I have no interest in XII or XIII due to the bad things I've heard about them, and XI and XIV are MMOs which may interest me if they are fun and the fees aren't astronomical, though I'd likely pick only one of them to play.

@zack if you choose one of the MMOs choose XI, I didn't hear as many bad things about that as XIV, personally if I were to play FF games I'd play up till X also since that seems to be where people say it went downhill, but thankfully we have KH and Bravley Defult as alternatives

Thanks for the advice, Otaku. I've read reports about A Realm Reborn (the reboot of XIV) being more solo-friendly than XI, as well as being more fun in general. Also, XI is on PS2, whereas ARR is on PS3 and PS4, so XI probably wouldn't work on my future PS3.
