Not yet. Amethyst is able to cast a shield on herself, and most of Brocc's spells are supportive, taking the form of music and poetry. Emily's divine magic is also supportive, healing wounds and bolstering defences.

That's Zed's personal plot. All the other characters have some degree of importance in terms of story: Amethyst was chosen to be the distributor of the crystals, taking her to many different lands in order to find them; Mak is determined to find his long-lost mother, no matter the consequences; Mara is...well, you get the idea.

Oh, I got the idea allright! Why you're always correcting me? Why you never tell me there's something to go on? That's not the way! And that's what's been keeping me from helping you to get your plot right. If it's you writing CoS all the way, write it the best you can, Zack. If you want help, don't push ppl way off boundaries, k? I bet Zed wouldn't like that either.
