Why has New Super Mario Bros. 2 been removed from the 3DS eshop? Possible update?

The 3DS eshop download New Super Mario Bros. 2 is down right now if you try to download the game you'll get this message. "Sorry this game isn't available at this time please try again later"

Maybe Nintendo realized that NSMB was enough of the same thing.
