I loved the demo, and unlike many others, I could barely notice any framerate issues. I think the game has been designed beautifully, and deserves to be recognized by any fan of the series.
Anyways, I'll definitely be checking the eShop tonight at 12 a.m. EST to see if the game is already available for download. Fire Emblem was available at 12:01 a.m. on the dot, so I'm hoping MoF will be too. Will anybody else be checking for the full moon tonight.

Yeah William I'm with you and sent you a swap plus answered your other swap. EO4 wasn't there at midnight either and I don't think the third parties get the same love as Nintendo made games. EO4 was not there till almost noon the same day. I'm checking one more time at 1am then its off to bed.

I'm currently playing Symphony of The Night for the PS1, is this game similar to the classic titles like SoTN or Rebirth or is it closer to the newer DS titles?

I guess it's similar to the last Lords of Shadow game that was available for Xbox 360 and PS3, except there's more of an emphasis on battling than say collectibles and or exploration.

I am playing SotN as well on XBLA though since I dont have a working PS2.
Anyway from what I have played on the demo the stages are set up like SotN where you movie left to right or right to left, not like say for example Super Mario 64. There is a bit of platforming involved like swinging from chandeliers and climbing up to a higher level.
The big difference with this game is the combat. YOu can't just plow through skeletons like SotN for example you actually have to watch how they attack. Like if one is carrying a shield and you just sit there swinging wildly at it it will just sit there and block your attacks and wait for you to finish to attack you. When you fight bosses after you get there hit points down to nothing they will start to glow and you have do a finishing move on them to kill them otherwise after a few seconds they will regain about a quarter of there health and you will have to beat them down again and try to finish them off again, it reminds me of the seal system of Dawn of Sorrow.
I bought it today after work but I probably wont have the chance to play it till my day off.

This game is so damn beautiful, and the attention to detail is more than I had imagined possible on the 3DS. The reviewer at IGN must be smoking crack.

I think the game does look really good and its a bit easier then the demo. The weaker enemies die a whole lot faster then the demo. Nice pacing as well and its not not getting stuck trying to figure out where to go next. The only problem I see so far is the polygon count on the weak enemies is rather low. They look blocky and angled to much. The 3d has to be seen as its top 3 of anything I've seen on the system. Visuals just look great as the lightning in the first levels just looks great! Over 11000 blocks for those looking to dl it and it took me about an hour and 25 mins to dl.

Tech, are you serious, easier than the demo? Yeah, maybe the weak a*s zombies you first encounter, but I take it you haven't met the Nightwatchman yet, huh? Without the double jump, that fight was a lot more difficult than the boss battle in the demo. Well, at least I thought it was.

I just defeated him and he wasn't to bad to handle. Of course magic helps which wasn't in the demo!

Like I said above I really like the look of this game. The weaker enemies look a bit dull though as I think they look like the polygon count is way low. The backgrounds look amazing. The soundtrack is ok. I think the sounds in the games sounds really good though. Really immerses you in the environment.

I think the music is wonderful. It really sets the ambiance perfectly for the whole mideval dungeon setting with flickering candles and torches. You do need earbuds to appreciate it fully, though.

I say it can be difficult but if you just learn to use the L button to dodge its not as bad as some people make it out to be. Plus you don't get to penalized for dying as you can continue in a boss fight almost where you left off.

On a scale of one to ten, I would say it's about a six or seven. It's not too easy, and it's not too hard. I think the difficulty is just right, for this type of game. All of the combos I've unlocked have been simple double, triple or quadruple taps on the X & Y buttons or a combination of the two. The difficulty lies in the fact that you need to devise a strategy for almost every adversary you encounter. You can't progress through this game with the one-slash kills you'll remember from past entries.

I just reached Act 2 last night. I think I like being Simon better than Alucard. Although, the visuals are becoming even more impressive in Act 2. This game would be a perfect candidate for some DLC, since the story is so short. In Act 2, you reach an area of Castlevania that is currently undergoing construction, and I think that makes for a perfect opportunity for DLC.

This game really needs more love! I'm serious, the sales are very low for a Castlevania game. Mercury Steam already stated that sales for MoF would predict if or not they would produce a follow up in the foreseeable future. If your a Castlevania fan (like myself) you really should try to support this game. It may stray a little from the norms that the series is known for, but a little different is a lot better than nothing at all.

I like it. You guys like it but the reviews are all over the place. Obviously too many people were expecting something totally different. I for one am glad they went more action as I was getting tired of the old formula problem is that's what the fans seem to want. A good deal of people that played the demo either loved it or hated it for various reasons. I just wish the reviewers review it as a stand alone and not on what they were expecting it to be. As good as it is I wish I went retail as its the type of game I would return a few months down the road. That said I know people that want it but won't pay full price!

I'm stuck on the giant scaven boss with Alucard. I guess I'll be giving the game a short break for now. I refuse to lower the difficulty to easy, after I've already come all this way.

I still haven't been able to tame that damn beast! I think I may actually have to resort to easy mode for the Scaven boss. This is the perfect game to play on Holloween. The atmosphere will definitely get you into the Holloween spirit.
