Back in July of 2011 Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, in response to questions about the WiiU and 3d stated
“If you are going to connect Wii U with a home TV capable of displaying 3-D images, technologically, yes, it is going to be possible, but that's not the area we are focusing on”
Now we are getting reports that the WiiU will actually support the feature, but not at launch; 3D functionality will be included after. It has also been stated that the WiiU will display these 3D graphics in full 1080p and run at 60 frames Per Second. Sound too good to be true? Not really, but take into account the fact that the source said that they received this news from an “anonymous source” and that nothing has been announced officially by Nintendo. Take this with a grain of Salt.
The WiiUs support of 3D isn’t something that’s impossible, there is a possibility that it could happen. It’s just that Nintendo doesn’t like to invest in new technology unless it’s widely adopted already. So I’m not surprised that Nintendo may release 3D compatibility in the future.
Like I said earlier there hasn’t been any announcement from Nintendo or Any other developers on this topic, so we will just classify this one as a rumour.

It could happen. Once Nintendo sees that sales in 3Dtvs are going up. Then they will include the feature. But not before.
