Reggie is right. Nintendo did all those things, gave given the most robust launch line-up ever, including a ton of 3rd party games and 'core' games.
People aren't satisfied.
Unless Nintendo dropped a bomb like GTA V is exclusive to WiiU people would complain it wasn't enough. And if they did announce that, people would complain Nintendo is using their casual market cash to buy up exclusives and screwing the core.
Gamers really are an insatiable lot.

I think people are just upset by the number of casual games Nintendo showed at E3.
People are afraid that the Wii U will continue the Wii tradition as a casual console.

Which I think brings up a question of is Nintendo, as a company, ever 'core'?
There most 'core' franchises are Metroid and Zelda. Metroid is a minor series really with only around 1-2m in sales and Zelda goes for a cartoonish look half the time which turns the 'core' off. Zelda tends to range from 3-7m in sales. Same with 3D Mario.
Compare to casual friendly titles: NSMB, Mario Kart, Nintendogs, Brain Age, Wii Sports/Fit which sale in the range of 20-40+m.
Which will sell more? Pikmin 3 or NSMB? ZombiiU or NintendoLand? Assassin's Creed 3 or WiiFitU?
NSMB, NintendoLand, WiiFitU will likely all break 10m, even if WiiU is a 'flop'.
Of the top fifty all time best selling games, about 40 are Nintendo. I don't think they are going to change what they are doing, when they are more successful than anyone.
Problem is today's gamers equate 'core' with 'violent' and Nintendo doesn't do violence. Nintendo seems to equate 'core' with 'compulsive'. A person who will play the same game for hours on end, trying to better their score (classic core gamer) whether that's in Animal Crossing, Wii Sports or Super Smash Bros.
In that respect NSMBU, NintendoLand and WiiFitU are excellent core games. I could see myself playing them far longer than Assassin's Creed 3 (which would get one run through).
If people are expecting Nintendo to suddenly make a CoD or GTA they are fooling themselves.

I get what you're saying, but WiiU Fit is not a game no matter how you look at it. It's nothing more than a virtual fitness program, so even if it's successful it's not even a game which puts it in a category outside of hardcore or even casual games.

I just hope Nintendo will localize more Japanese developed WiiU games than they did for the Wii
