Nicalis announced another new game they're going to port for the 3DS... and possibly for the Wii U !
Originally and indie game for Xbox Live Arcade, 1,001 Spikes is a remake that includes in which it will be an enhaced version that features new art, new graphics, new music and sound, but not only that ! it will also have the same punishing difficulty mostly known in this game ! since there was a trailer that featured 20 different ways you can be killed ! This remake will also support a multiplayer mode ! where up to four people can play this game locally !
The remake will be out this year on 3DS on the eShop... and it will also be aiming for a Wii U launch as well ! hopefully in it's own online shop !
Lastly, here are some details from a hands-on demo impressions !
"- demo shows the first stages of the game
- starts off in a jungle with a waterfall
- shoot with A, short jump with B and high jump with Y
- there's a big difference between the jumps
- no touch screen use
- main goal in every level is to find the key that opens the end door
- the demo features a few enemies, but the main hazards involved jumping and falling blocks
- artwork looks like a mix between Cave Story and La-Mulana
- 3D will be used to show different layers"
So what do you guys think of this news ? are you interested in this remake or not ?

Do games need to be epic ?... or fun ?...

This year? Knowing Nicalis, we might see it when the WiiU's successor is around the corner. Well, not that long, but I fully expect a delay for at least one of the versions.

The art style reminds me of Ghosts n' Goblins.
