Fishing Resort Tournament 3/4/12-3/18/12 Tidur River

The new tournament has started so lets get this party started now that our number of participants has boosted dramatically.

First of all I caught a
2.4678 ft Snakehead which is the 94th largest of the tournament so far!

I also caught a
2.5144 ft Magoi which is the 116th largest so far in the current tournament.

Has anyone else done well enough to get a numbered ranking instead of the dreaded no service you suck rank?

OMG I just lost a 4.36 ft Japanese Huchen!
I would have been first on the Tidur River Tournament for the species with over a 0.11 ft cushion between me, and second.

I'm not having much luck catching S rank tournament fish today.

My largest Grass Carp of the tournament is ranked 39th :->

My Snakehead rank is now 92nd with my largest being 2.4681 ft now.

I lost another #1 rank fish this time it was a 2.19 ft Catfish.

How can you lose a catfish? Aren't they easy to reel in?

He may have been using a small rod and reel when he hooked one which would make it very hard to reel a catfish in D|

That's why I never use the Small range rod. The Heroic/lunker keeper combo attracts all small fish as well as medium sized fish.

Um....where are the Grass Carp at?

I still haven't caught one, but I think I have heard that they are somewhere in North River, and I'm pretty sure I hooked one, but didn't catch it near the reeds on the far east side of North River.

They're somewhat rare. Look for a large, gold shadow underwater. They look similar to a black carp, but more gold.

I just lost a 5.09 ft Grass Carp near the waterfall at North River.

Ouch... that sucks. I forgot to tell you that you can find it anywhere starting from just downstream from the log pile in the Northern River (upstream) and towards the waterfall.

I'm having terrible luck at catching large fish in this tournament.
Only 6 days left too.

Don't feel too bad. It took me 71 Japanese huchens(of course they weren't all caught this week!) and 28 Grass Carps to get S-ranks.

Do you have a pic of what Grass Carp look like in the water?

I don't have a sd card so I can't upload any pictures, sorry. Check Philia's guide for a picture of it in the fish book. Compare its body shape with the Black Carp and see if you can spot the differences. It looks very similar to the black carp, but is just a lighter color and more golden. Good luck

I wish you much luck my friend. It's about time someone other than the Japanese takes a spot on that leaderboard. Nothing against the Japanese, though.

Not trying to brag or anything, but I got 1st place on the Silver Salmon leaderboard during the last online contest.
