Nintendo Europe have confirmed that Pandora’s Tower, a Japanese Role Playing Game that has been available in Japan exclusivly since last year, has been localised and will see a release on Nintendo Wii in April.
The game will launch across “European Territories” on April 13th 2012 and features realtime combat and an epic storyline that spans over 100 hours. Pandora’s Tower introduces a unique relationship system to the genre which shapes the outcome of the entire storyline. The game features multiple endings.
The press release reveals some of the main story and plot premise;
In Pandora’s Tower you take on the role of Aeron, a soldier, as he battles to save his beloved friend Elena from a mysterious curse that is gradually transforming her into a demonic creature. Only by battling through the towers of a nearby fortress can Aeron save her from her gruesome fate. Using his sword and the magical Oraclos Chain, Aeron must defeat the creatures that lurk there and harvest their meat to feed to Elena. Only by eating all of the “master flesh”, harvested from the largest monsters within each tower, will Elena be fully cured of the curse and free from its monstrous grip.
By returning to Elena to feed her meat from the smaller monsters, you can slow down the transformation – but only temporarily. You will need to carefully judge when it is best to return to her, as not coming back in time could lead to Elena’s permanent transformation into a demonic beast
The game rose to popularity after it was announced in a Japanese investor’s briefing as a Japan-only title. Wii owners in the West were immediately smitten by the beauty of a couple of screenshots that were released, and demanded a localised version.
While the press release does not mention Australia specifically, usually our country falls in the “European region” for video game releases, as was the case with a game with a similar history, Xenoblade Chronicles that was released last year. If the game doesn’t release in Australia, Aussie Gamers can still import it over since we use the same “PAL” version of Wii consoles as those in Europe.

Im assuming all of this is riding on How well Xenoblade does here in the west. Come on Wii Owners. Thoughts?

This game sounds much too dark for me but this is very good news for western gamers

I've actually heard poor things about this one, so I'm not particularly upset if it doesn't come to the US. Xenoblade and The Last Story seem to have some prestige, but I'm not sure about this.
