A Splashing Aura!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Developed by Cognitive Forge and Hidden Trap & published by Novy PR Aura of Worlds is a 2D Action Roguelike game that has a fun yet somewhat generic story premise and gameplay mechanics, but is this enough to earn our recommendation? Not on its own, but when you consider every aspect of the title, we think so and here's why:
The gameplay in Aura of Worlds is typical Roguelike platforming fare, though the gameplay is refined and has everything you'd like to see in a game of its genre! Interesting, but light story? Check! Varied environments? Check! Steady difficulty progression without jarring difficulty spikes? Check! Every aspect of the game while not overly remarkable on its own has culminated in a very solid game that we thoroughly enjoyed!
The controls are also responsive and very easy to learn which is always a good thing. In-terms of game length it's heavily dependent on a player's level of skill, but in our case we didn't see the ending credits until we sunk about 30 hours into the game! So expect plenty of hours of enjoyment from this title!
As for the audiovisual-presentation, it's pretty solid with decent music, and great level design and character/enemy models that look like something straight out of the 90's to early-2000's!
Bottom-Line:With great gameplay that might be lacking a bit of uniqueness, a good story, flawless controls, a decent amount of content, and a solid audiovisual-presentation, Aura of Worlds is a solid Roguelike platformer that is a worthwhile addition to the Switch library of any fans of the genre! As such we give the game a solid level of recommendation!
