Mixed Bag of Creative Fun!

Developed and published by NIS America RPG Maker With is a highly accessible game creation engine that is easy to learn for newcomers of the series, but is there enough meat in the engine for players returning from RPG Maker MV? Yes and no, it's a bit complicated, but please continue reading our review to find out if this software's for you!
First off, the software is HIGHLY accessible and is easier to learn if you're a newcomer to the engine than any previous iteration of the software with super intuitive menus and far fewer glitches than were present in MV. The addition of being able to share assets as well as collaborate with other creators is a high point in this version of the software and is going to no doubt ensure that there will be a massive amount of quality content in the future which is fantastic for sure, but for veteran creators returning after the feature-rich MV console port, the amount of built-in assets is woefully lacking unless you purchase the DLC which is going to cost a fairly large sum of money to get everything which certainly isn't ideal, but it is what it is. Another thing missing is the robust character creator from MV that allowed you a massive amount of customization options for your character models, including outfits, accessories, color palettes, and the sheer flexibility of stats and experience balancing that will be hard to swallow for returning players and as such docks a couple points from the game's overall score.
The audiovisual-presentation is quite solid with a great selection of music to add to your projects as well as a good variety of gorgeous characters and fantastic enemy models to play around with, and the frame-rate is exceptionally fluid with virtually no slowdown to speak of, which is a HUGE improvement over MV that had a frame-rate that was very unstable and fluctuated A LOT.
Lastly our experience with this software was mostly positive and we lost ourselves creating content easily adding up to 100's of hours and it was far more pleasant than our experience with MV previously. This engine runs so well that we can't find any faults with the software in of itself, despite some of the shortcomings in other aspects. All-in-all we enjoyed our time with the software!
Bottom-Line: With easy to use creation software that's perfect for beginners of the game engine, superb frame-rate and excellent variety of audio, character, and monster assets, RPG Maker With for the Nintendo Switch is a great starting point for newcomers of the game engine, however the lack of overall assets compared to MV, pricey DLC, and the lack of a comprehensive character creator hurt the game's overall score and is likely to be off-putting for returning creators. Overall, however we still give the software a solid-to-good level of recommendation on Switch as we feel that it's still worth its price of admission!

I agree that MV was much more feature rich than this release, hopefully there will be free content updates in the future!
