Neo Geo X to launch December 6th

After much rumors and speculation of the price the Neo Geo X will launch this December at a 200 dollar price tag. In case you haven't been following this the Neo GeoX is a handheld Neo Geo that will come preloaded with some of the greats Neo Geo games of its time. It will also have HDMI ports so you can connect it to a tv or monitor as well as it being a handheld. SNK will be making it so its not a clone system. Full line up of games are as follows.

Will there be a disc drive for additional games and will there be new unique games for this new NEOGEO console?

There will be an expansion slot on the Neo Geo X but your guess is as good as mine as to what that will do. The preloaded games are saved to an SD card kind like how 3DSVC games are saved to an SD card and from what I read SNK said it was a possibility that new games could be added via a download service like the VC on the 3DS. As for new original games I haven't heard anything about that from what I gather this is purely for retro gamers, still its not out of the realm of possibility.

Also one thing I should point out is that this wont play Neo Geo Pocket games or any Neo Geo cartridge games everything is purely on an SD card.

I think D4 should make two download sections just like the other modern consoles and handhelds with one section for retro NEOGEO games and another for new exclusive games developed specifically for the NEOGEO X download service.

I didnt think these guys were still making consoles.

Yea they are around still I think they are pretty big in Japan.

Interesting, and 130 Dollar isn't expensive. Hopefully they will also produce new games.

Yeah even the $200 price tag for the docking base and controller isnt bad either. I am half tempted to get that one but I think the wife would have a problem if I try to hook up one more system to the tv.

Is there any new information now that the launch day is only 3 days away?

I just want to know how Metal Slug is going to look on that little screen.
