Amid all the bad press the WiiU has been getting lately gamers who own the console hold out hope as they know that games drive console sales, and if there is any game that can do it, it’s Smash Bros. Since E3 2013 developer Masahiro Sakurai has been releasing tidbits on information on the game both online and through Miiverse for the fans to salivate over.
In today’s Nintendo Direct we got a look at a new (classic) character that will be joining the line up, Nintendo’s own Little Mac from the Punch-out series. As you know Punch-out was released for the Wii in 2009 and was the first punch-out title on a home console since 1994. Little Mac also made appearances in Super Smash Bros Brawl but never as a playable character.
So far from the trailer he is looking like a good fit for the game. Let’s just hope that KO meter isn't overused.

I love that he's in, and the Doc Louis moments in the trailer was great

Yes indeed. It reminded me of the Rocky films.

If one Assist Trophy can become a fully-playable character, then that means there's hope for Waluigi and Isaac to finally be playable as well!

@Zack my most wanted character is ONCE AGAIN reduced to assist trophy
Stafy....

@Otaku I'm sorry.

its weird that they haven't made Waluigi a playable character. Why not both Wario and Waluigi.

I know, right? Waluigi's appeared in virtually every Mario-series spin-off since Mario Tennis N64 (minus Mario Tennis GBC and Mario Kart 7), and yet he's only appeared as an Assist Trophy in the Smash Bros. series.
